sFTP stands for Secure File Transfer Protocol and means that files will be transferred via an encrypted connection to the server. If a customer wishes to use sFTP, he must have active SSH access – it’s an upgrade feature for most of the shared web hosting plans.

The required port for secure file transfers is 2222, instead of the standard FTP port – 21. The sFTP password is the same as the SSH password.

If a customer experiences problems with his sFTP connection, our support staff will be happy to assist you.
